MIRA Author Companion — what we do with your data.

What the extension does

When you visit your Amazon KDP dashboard at kdpreports.amazon.com, the MIRA Author Companion service worker quietly calls the same dashboard JSON endpoints that the KDP page itself uses — using your existing logged-in browser session — and forwards the parsed royalty data to your MIRA Hub at mira.indieauthormedia.com. From there, MIRA shows your earnings alongside your TikTok marketing activity in one place.

The extension auto-syncs in three ways: every time you visit your KDP dashboard (debounced to once every five minutes), once every four hours in the background, and on demand when you click Sync now in the popup. You can disconnect at any time from the popup or from the MIRA Hub.

What data the extension touches

• KDP dashboard data — estimated royalties, orders, KENP page reads, top-earning titles, daily royalty history (last 30 days), marketplace + format distributions. This is exactly the data Amazon shows you on your KDP dashboard.
• Your MIRA connection token — a long-lived credential the extension uses to authenticate to your MIRA account. Stored in chrome.storage.local. Revocable at any time.
• Sync log — a local record of the last 30 sync attempts (timestamp + status code) shown in the extension popup so you can verify it's working. Not transmitted anywhere.

What we never do

• We never ask for your Amazon password. The extension uses cookies your browser has already set during your own Amazon sign-in — we never see them, store them, or transmit them.
• We never send your KDP session cookies to MIRA. The KDP fetch happens entirely inside your browser. Only the parsed JSON royalty data leaves your browser.
• We do not include trackers, analytics scripts, or third-party SDKs. The extension talks only to kdpreports.amazon.com (your own KDP), mira.indieauthormedia.com (your own MIRA account), and optionally advertising.amazon.com + business.facebook.com if you opt into Amazon Ads or Meta Ads sync later.
• We do not sell, share, or rent your data. Your royalty data is yours; we only host it in your MIRA account.

Where your data lives on the MIRA side

Royalty snapshots are sent to https://mira.indieauthormedia.com/api/finances/ingest-json with your MIRA extension token as the Authorization header. The data is stored against your MIRA account on Indie Author Academy's PostgreSQL infrastructure. Access is scoped to your account only — no other MIRA user can see your royalties.

Amazon terms

Third-party tools that interact with Amazon dashboards may carry some risk under Amazon's terms of service. The extension is designed to use only your own active session and to minimise its footprint, but you remain responsible for your KDP account. Please review Amazon's KDP terms before installing.

Disconnecting + deleting

Click Disconnect in the extension popup or revoke the connection at mira.indieauthormedia.com/alpha/settings/connections. The extension's local data is cleared on disconnect. To delete your synced royalty history from MIRA's servers, email asharth@gmail.com; we'll remove the data within seven days.
