A five-year-old book, one rented channel and seven days of Buckets

Rosse's first book had sat in the ranking basement for three years. A week after she started posting with MIRA, it was in the top 100 of two of its categories. Here is what she did, in her own words and numbers.

Rosse is a MIRA author with a six-book series. Book 1 came out in December 2020. She recently shared this in the MIRA community:

Appreciation post. Thank you to Bobby and the MIRA team!

For the past three years, Book 1 (released Dec 2020) sat between #1M and #1.5M in the US market. Today it's at #30K–40K, and hitting the top 100 in 2 out of 3 categories. Might not be an impressive number to some, but for a five-year-old book that was effectively invisible, I'll take it.

I saw the result after 3 days of posting. For context, I started posting 7 days ago using Buckets with 1 rented channel at two posts a day. Nothing went viral. Views ranged from 188 to 1,600 per post. It saved me a LOT OF TIME creating posts, figuring out how to censor words, and warming up accounts. I might switch other accounts to this book, especially since book 6, the last book in the series, is coming out this November.

The setup, in numbers

  • 7 daysof posting before she wrote the post
  • 1rented TikTok channel
  • 2 a dayposts, sent by a Bucket
  • 188–1,600views per post. None went viral

Ranking before: between #1M and #1.5M in the US market, for three years. Ranking after one week: #30K–40K, and top 100 in 2 of its 3 categories. She saw it move after three days.

Nothing went viral, and it still worked

The views per post are modest. What changed was that the book showed up every day, twice a day, in front of readers who had never seen it. A steady rhythm of ordinary posts did more for a back-list title than waiting for one big hit.

An old book is not a dead book

Book 1 was five years old. For a series author, the first book is the door to every other one, and Rosse is already thinking about pointing more accounts at it before the last book in the series comes out in November.

The part she mentions most is time

Three jobs ate her time before: making the posts, working out how to censor words TikTok might filter, and warming up accounts. A Bucket handles the first, MIRA's censor list handles the second, and a rented channel arrives already warmed up. How a Bucket works covers the setup step by step.

One author, one book, one week. Results depend on the book, the genre and the accounts, and MIRA does not guarantee views, followers or sales. The rankings are the ones the author reported. Name changed for privacy.
